Part 6 of 6 – Buildings & Fortifications
At last, I’m in the home stretch. With all the figures painted along with the half-track, I have the buildings from the starter set to finish off and some fortifications for scenery.
I started with the farm buildings and the assembly was straightforward. These buildings are a little finicky to put together. Not difficult, but the fit won’t be perfect. I didn’t sweat it for these, and once the paint is on most folks won’t notice little gaps etc.
Post 5 – Painting the German Sd Kfz 251
I’ve been looking forward to this project. I’ve loved building military models since I was a kid in all scales up to 1/35. In a larger scale game like Bolt Action, you have the opportunity to really pour some time and energy into your armoured vehicles because there’s just so much ‘real estate’ to work with. German tanks especially give so many choices for the modeler around a variety of configurations and camo patterns.
Part 4 – Painting the Germans
I have to say, I always enjoy painting WWII German figures. They’re typically so different from any other nation. Most armies are pretty uniform, general issue G.I… in short, kind of dull to paint. While it’s satisfying to have a finished army, at times painting the same uniform, same webbing, same equipment over and over gets pretty tedious.
Post 3 – Painting the Americans
Everything is assembled, it’s about time we got some paint on them!
Part 2 – Construction begins!
Last time we took a look at the basics of the game and the setting, now it’s time to get stuck-in and start putting all this plastic together! Continue reading
