If you asked me what I thought of the year 2020, I’d have to say it was a fantastic year for my hobbies… everything else aside. True, I didn’t get in as many games as I would have liked. Also true, I didn’t get to have as many good times with friends around the gaming table as in previous years. With the gaming postponed I used my extra time and found plenty of time for (the eventual…) betterment of my future-timey-time games.

I’ve just finished the Sump Sea board that I’ve been working on for the past couple months and rather than sit around patting myself on the back I thought I’d write an article as well. This build ended up taking a lot longer than I had first planned but I’m excited for a unique gaming setting that promises to see many sticky deaths for those poor gangers! Here is how, and why.

There are noticeable differences between a ‘normal sized’ project and a ‘really big’ project. Obviously, the size of the project, but that also affects the time required…an element that I tend to consider less than I should. Focus can be an issue on some projects, especially the larger ones, which require a larger time commitment. Fending off the mid-project doldrums is the name of the game this time…let’s see if I can get some much needed hobby bonus energy out of messing about.

The Only Thing That Matters To Me Is: Nostalgia, Nostalgia, Nostalgia!.

I’ve mentioned before how Necromunda is a game for older, more experienced gamers. Well, if you are as old as me then you are very much excited about how the hobby (and your favourite game: Necromunda…) has turned out…yet, you are also very much driven to have the things you never had or always wished you did.

One of the words that can be used to describe what that is is ‘Nostalgia’…we’ll leave those other words out for just now…

Monster Fight Club Terrain Review

Two weeks ago, the Sentry Box received its first delivery of the new Monster Fight Club Scenery and whenever we bring in a new product line like this we like to open it up and add it to our terrain collection as we feel that it’s only fair, if we want you to pay money for it, we show you that we believe in it and spend our money on it too.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we can’t currently let you enjoy playing on the scenery, so we sent Kris home with some to try out and give us a review!

Necromunda offers a dynamic and structurally challenging gaming experience. This is doubly true if you have lots of scenery. Furthering this dynamism are the two gaming setting of Sector Mechanicus (Sprawling and ever climbing vertical play area) and Zone Mortalis (essentially a flat gaming area) both distinct and very different from each other. We are going to focus in on Sector Mechanicus and the towers of the Hive cities…or more exactly, the bridges of varying length and construction that hold those lofty spires together.
