The Slaine: Kiss My Axe! Starter Set has arrived, read on for our review!
Warlord Game’s SPQR Revised Edition has finally arrived in the store and we thought it was worth a quick write up on what has changed and what this means to all the folks who bought the 2019 version of the game.
So, Kris is here with a quick write up about the game and what you have to look forward too with the new version!
In Part 1 of our Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms review, we looked at the Core Rules Box but before we get into the meat of the game it was time to open one of the Boxes and look at some of the miniatures!

Technically speaking these are new releases for Wednesday and Friday but the title is already long enough and I don’t think anyone will get too worked up about the temporal inaccuracy of it. If you do then feel free to direct all comments to Assistant Manager Drew who is in charge of temporal anomalies and the discussion thereof.
While we don’t have all the things we certainly have a good number of them so check out the pretty photos. We also received a restock of the Harry Potter card game and Tanks! if you are into that sort of thing.
Did you know that today is the Feast Day of Saint Paul of the Axe? He is the patron saint of board games and board game expansions. To celebrate this auspicious day we have some amazing new arrivals including the wildly anticipated Sea Fall.
Something about the weather or the day makes me want to do a Conan “what is best in life” joke but I think that I have already done that and its been done to death. Rather like “Hitler reacts to the new arrivals at The Sentry Box” which is something no-one wants to see.
What people do want to see is the Dead of Winter – The Long Night stand-alone expansion as well as Codename Pictures. None of which come with a Conan joke.
All the signs of fall are beginning to appear. The birds are starting to flock together for their trip south, the leaves are turning yellow and The Sentry Box has received copies of the new edition of the Call of Cthulhu RPG. I’m pretty sure that last one is a sign of fall. Or was it the Fall. Either way its going to get colder.
In addition we also have the Polaris RPG and some new goodies from Fantasy Flight Games in stock. Come down and check it all out. And also ask Assistant Manager Drew to do his Sandy Petersen impression for you. Its so good its uncanny.
It has been a while since we have posted New Releases on our blog. If you are a fan of our Facebook page you’ve been seeing weekly(ish) photo dumps but sadly we have been neglecting the blog. No longer though!
This week brings more goodies to soothe the soul of the modern gamer. Lots of fun stuff including the New Warmachine Two-Player Starter Boxes and two versions of Are You the Cultist. What a time we live in.
And canny gamers might also see the late-great Prince’s favourite game in the list as well. And no, it isn’t Nothing Compares 2 Hordes.
Two new release posts in as many days?! Clearly your sacrifices to Centeotl have been answered. Or was I the only one doing that? In any case, there is a harvest-like bounty of new releases today including many new RPGs.
JurassAttack! by Green Couch Games
In JurassAttack! by Ryan Cowler two players face off in an epic face-to-face dinosaur battle!
In the game, each player chooses a dinosaur or pack of dinosaurs of the same type from their hand, then they reveal them simultaneously to compare Ferocity values. The player with the highest total Ferocity wins the round, taking their rival’s dinosaurs into their score pile. Different types of dinosaurs are worth varying amounts of victory points, so it’s important to plan well and make sure not to give away too many points in the event of a knockout!
Its an exciting day at The Sentry Box. Why? The arrival of fun new games an expansions of course. That and Assistant Manager Drew has promised to take us all to Dairy Queen for a cone after work. But enough talk of cold soft-serve treats, here are the new arrivals for today.
Captain Carcass by Mayday Games
Welcome to Captain Carcass, a world of underwater adventure and danger. Captain Carcass is a 2-4 player game that is a press-your-luck style game that many have described as “Incan Gold meets Blackjack”.
There are 10 suits in the game and 6 cards of each suit. Players take turns revealing cards. Play until you choose to “bank” your cards and keep them for scoring at the end of the game, or press your luck too far and “bust” if you reveal a 2nd card of the same suit in your turn. When the deck runs out players sum the highest card from each of the 10 suits and the highest score wins! Simple right? Well each of the 10 suits has a special ability which is activated every time a card is played, making for some clever combinations and some difficult decisions.
